  • Top 25 Tracks of 2025

    Back again for track review 2025, another year where I have listened to a pretty decent amount of music. I really wanted to break one of my rules this year as I will document at the end but I stuck to my guns as the rules have not changed in the best part of 15 years. Oh what are the rules you ask? but of course, all songs to be released as either a single or album track in 2025 and no more than 1 track per artist. So here is the list;

    25. Common Perry - Better Off

    24. Moonchild Sanelly - Do My Dance

    23. Marina - Cuntissimo

    22. IMLE - Slainte

    21. Bob Vylan - Dream Bigger (Ft. Amy Taylor)

    20. JPEGMAFIA - What the Hip Hop Hell is This?

    19. Wet Leg - Mangetout

    18. SPRINTS - Descartes

    17. Scorcher - No More Parties (ft. JME)

    16. Viagra Boys - Man Made of Meat

    15. The Divine Comedy - Rainy Sunday Afternoon

    14. BABYMETAL - from me to you (Ft. Poppy)

    12. Be Your Own Pet - What a Bitch

    11. Pulp - Got to Have Love

    10. Lambrini Girls - Cuntology 101

    9. Kneecap - H.O.O.D. (2025 Mix)

    8. Babyshambles - Dandy Hooligan

    7. Ex.Void - Swansea

    6. Lisa O'Neill - The Wind Doesn't Blow This Far Right

    5. Rachel Chinouriri - Can We Talk About Isaac?

    4. Peter Doherty - Calvados

    3. Wolf Alice - Sofa Song

    2. The Wombats - Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come

    1. Varo - Green Grows the Laurel (Ft. John Francis Flynn)

There we have it for 2025, first of all I will discuss the rule break that I Wanted to make, I really wanted to include Hak Baker - Poems, a beautiful song that I discovered this year and would definitely have been a top 3 on the list but sadly it was released in late 2024 and I only became aware of it this year. Other things I found interesting about this list, it became clear early in the year that there would be 2 themes to the list, Irish artists (6) and tracks with female vocalists (14). At over 20%, I am very sure that 6 Irish acts is the highest representation from the nation and I have definitely never had more than half of tracks with female vocalists which is pretty cool. Also two of the songs have Cunt in the title...
