Ultimate fan site and Labour Conference

My already burning love for the Libertines has recently been enhanced by my encounter with my new found partner in great music, the lovely inbred lass. Whilst searching through various Libertines, Babyshambles, Wolfman and even Yeti related websites i realised that what the World Wide Web was really missing was an amazingly brilliant Pete Doherty fan site, and so me in my decades of so called free time in which i quite possibly be revising for my up and coming exams, decided to fill this void.
The Worlds Greatest Pete Doherty Fan Site - Libertine11

I hope that anyone who has the opportunity to can take time to revel in the man that is pete doherty

All who know me and possibly some who don't are aware of the fact that I am a Labour supporter - My point to be made, which i am almost certain will gain most reaction from the readers of this blog is:
If it ain't broke, don't fix it - others would say that it is "broke", that the Labour Government is unfit to run the country but I say that the Government has done plenty to help the citizens of this country over the past 8 years, including solving much conflict in Sierra Leone, Kossovo and to some extent Northern Ireland. Also Inflation has stayed low, the economy is in a decent way and possibly most importantly they have doubled the amount of aid going to developing countries. I ask is there any alternative - Tories are a bunch of racist scum:) and the liberals although have some good ideas would not be able to run a Government.

Anyway none of that was intentionally going to be my point - Today I went to a Labour conference. Twas brilliant not only were there inspirational speeches from Tony and Gordon, but also a satellite link up with Bill Clinton and various celebrity appearances such as June Sarpong, Dermot O'Leary and Chris Eubank to name but a few...

That is easily my longest blog ever, so if you've read the whole thing well done and remember -
If you value it, Vote for it.

  • great site lol :D

  • No! No, no, no, no, no, NO! Fuck you! Labour are evil! They've been constantly lying to the public, oppressing the helpless (witness immigrants, muslims, pensioners, teenagers, me), handing our services over to coorporations, taxing the living shit out of students and even invading the Middle East when they're not allowed to! Hang 'em all!

And don't even get me started on the blasted Tories!

    (Nice site, though!)

  • I think Labour success and policy has found the end all and be all in this line:

"the inspirational speeches from Tony and Gordon."

That's about it really. Inspirational speeches, like "education, education, education" and all those little fairy tales about iraq. Not much else to show.

Sure, economy's ok. But then, natural forces dictate stability anyway - yes, tories messed up economy in the past. what with a 101% local income tax for some people. harsh days. if the conservatives actually did conserve, we'd be in a better position i suppose. I'm saying not to attribute too much success to labour for the economy, it could be better and labour have stemmed actual and potential growth in more than one way.

    Labour's failings are numerous.

Labour has given brits more spin than a spider can put into several webs, more tax than bill gates can shoulder and more lies than your average con-artist. Blair is to honesty and leadership what hitler was to humane and decency.

As to "conservatives are recist scum" - won't even comment on your generalisation there, which i shall take - unless stated otherwise - to be part of your impassioned plea to vote labour under all circumstances.

labour is labour, yet labout have been un-doing a lot of old-labour's works, such as within the universities; I hear talk of the credability of the NHS and pros of total privatisation as in america. Total privatisation of tubes? really? Remember Livingstone took Blair to the High court about that and Blair lost his case? All this, of course, I don't agree with. This is just a drop in the ocean. I haven't even started on bigger issues: stealth taxes, european constitution, waste spending, economic mismanagement....

    it goes on.

Labour aren't good for this country, it so happens they were thought to be the lesser of two evils back in 1997. No one bothered voting the next election: it was a landslide victory for labour. Everyone was too dissapointed and depressed with labour and conservatives to vote! :p

Anyway. Do remember the lib dems. If you wouldn't vote conervative, do vote lib dems: it may be a wasted vote, but i hope the increase in lib dem support will give them a chance in another 4 years of being the official opposition to either conservative, or labour. That should wake those two parties up.
