The Amazing Life of Ant D - Page 37

  • KOKO @ Camden

Well due to Wednesday being such a great day I thought it only right that I should make plans to attend the gig at the KOKO club on 4th August. And this time I am telling my mates with a good week and a halfs notice rather than the 2 days I gave last time and already that is looking to be paying off with one saying its a good chance he will come (I havnt yet told him about the 2am finish but we'll work on tht).

Yeti are rapidly moving up amongst my favourite bands. My favourite track of theirs, om not sure yet it was never lose your sense of wonder, then merry go round but since the gig in like with you and keep pushing on are in there aswell, its too close to call - but I have to point out that John Hassall although brilliant in every way is still no Pete Doherty, he may be playing silly buggers with drugs but he is still the most legendary legend ever.

As far as bits that I left out of the last blog, beer spilling over myself - thank you miss rachael I did leave it out for a reason, although it wasnt my fault I was making my way through a very crowded pub holding too full to the top pints, just because laura was using me as a battering ram to give her an easy path through just not fair.

Yes the skirt made entirely of ties was indeed very impressive, the colours were lovely but the twirl to show it off could have used some improvement

Photographer who I believe goes by the name of Malcolm was mad, he let PNB get hold of the camera I mean I just dont understand it, but apart from that he did take some good pictures, I'm sure he wont mind me advertising them www.mckipper.co.uk go to the bit about Yeti of course. Although he didnt manage to put up any of the direct pictures of us as a group I do believe I found myself in one of them, yes that tall gangly figure behind the pole, unless im mistaken it is me.

Umm short people with funny names and sommat about Jesus I cant remember and my trainers are old but trustworthy so dont mock them

Thats about it for now, to Cait, Rachael, Laura and whatever the names were of all the others, hope to see you all at KOKO, farewell

  • Yeti of course

Well lets just start this by saying all my mates are lazy arseholes who are all wankers, but now that weve got that out the way we can start about the gig.

The journey up there was admittedly a tad long but I dont care it was worth it. Me and PNB got into the Boogaloo pub at around 7:30 and started as we meant to go on, getting in a few drinks. Old Laura came in a bit later already half bladdered from her bottle of gin. Then introduced us to a bunch of fine young ladies. Although I think John was a bit too much to handle on the first meeting for most of them. Me being the shy old soul that i am only talked to john and the lovely Laura

When the warm up band came on I was thinking at least we're getting started but in fact I preffered the drinking and chatting, at least it wasnt the most dull music of all time dont get me wrong, it doesnt offend the ears like a celine dion but it just was very very boring, the only reason i didnt boo was because I was only a couple feet away from the band.

But then... YETI. yes twas amazing played all the classics (if you can call them that) plus a selection of songs that I had never heard before. Hopefully they'll do an album in the not too distant future. The amazing deafening sound that was being produced was just too good. Wooo and I was so close to an ex-Libertine, its my dream although dumb arse me didnt get anything signed. But he did take one of Laura's fags, both of them dirty smokers.

Then it was time to depart, back to Highgate tube station - although it did appear that we left at least 2 people behind who should have been coming with us, but I didnt know them so wasnt really my problem. Laura couldn't hide her love for me, making me give her hugs. so it was 3 lovely lasses, me and john on the train down, Laura off her head and making what were quite possibly very offensive messages behind a newspaper ;). Conversations followed about shoes and films and due to John boobs for a short while. The ladies all got off at Bank and me and john went on down towards the southern end of the northern line. Got to Colliers Wood, went home, watched a bit of telly, went to bed, the end.

    Again Lazy Wankers

Just incase you think I am being mean to Laura, it was meeting her that was the highlight of the evening :)

  • Following the trend

Well it was DJ a couple of months ago who first changed the whole background to his blog, then the inbreder so I thought what the hec, everyone else is doing it, why not me aswell, I think the finished article is probably quite a good answer to that question, but i'll let you fine people be the judge of that so if you wouldn't mind in your comments saying whether you are happy with change or to say for fuck sake man go back, go back!

Work experience ended in pretty much the same way as it had gone all week although the last half hour me, an american and the 23yr old mancunian were just chatting - was nice way to end, but the evening was when the real fun started, yes thats right off down the pub to celebrate the end, haha and did we celebrate first of all sneaking into the players lounge while the bouncers wernt looking, getting in a couple before being swiftly removed. Then moving on down the road and got in another 3 rounds before closing time and guess who we saw down the second pub, yes 4 of our teachers, wahey - we didnt approach them and they didnt approach us and that was for the best. And that was pretty much as far as the evening went..

Saturday was pretty dull, went to the church fayre, although it was boring i went out twice in 1st round matches in table tennis tournaments to about 50yr old men and the unbearable heat was well... unbearable. but there was one good outcome of the day (drum role please)

Yes this very stupid looking silver paper hat, John will be proud I was wearing it all day seen by half of the local community and I didnt care, I mean Its bloody cool. And today I went to a lame party, nothing to do just boring so dont really need to put any more detail in there. 1 week then summer Holidays, Yes
